A table was held on the needs of the labor market that affect the strengthening of the connection between academic and professional development for students of the Faculty of Economics

At the “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM) a round table was held on Thursday where the needs of the labor market that influence the strengthening of the link between academic and professional development for students of the Faculty of Economics were discussed. Representatives from local and central institutions, various organizations, businesses, etc., were also present at this activity.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics, prof. dr. Qazim Tmava thanked the attendees for showing interest and finding time to participate in this organization. While speaking about the topic of the table, he emphasized that the connection between the university – industry and the government is imperative of the time, which also affects the social development itself.

Meanwhile, the rector of UIBM, prof.dr. Alush Musaj congratulated the organizers of the table, the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Qazim Tmava, the professor, Filloreta Demiri Kunoviku and all those who have been part of the organization. He said that it has been a constant goal since the beginning for the university to be strongly integrated as a catalyst for the development of society, offering the academic part.

According to him, from the presentations that have been seen by the companies with which the Faculty of Economics cooperates, our students have shown a very good level, making them competitive in the labor market. “In the new circumstances, the needs of the labor market are gradually being imposed as the main factors for the opening and adaptation of study programs”.

Rector Musaj said that in UIBM as well as in all academic units separately, joint advisory bodies have been created, consisting of professors, students, business people and civil society, and where new programs and the adaptation of curricula. “I can say with full conviction that we are well on our way to creating a model institution in terms of cooperation with the non-university community, as a way to be as close as possible to development trends”.

Representatives of institutions, organizations and business also spoke at the table, such as Vesa Broja, chairperson of the Mitrovica Municipality Assembly, Leona Kovaqi, representative of the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation, Nehat Dervishi, representative from HERAS+, etc.
