Faculty of Geo-sciences becomes part of various projects in partnership with prestigious European universities

In order to increase cooperation and opportunities for joint projects under the Erasmus + program, a delegation of the Faculty of Geosciences from the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” (UMIB), led by the Dean, Naser Peci, has visited several universities different European. In this context, they have visited AGH University in Krakow, Poland, followed by Aalto University, Abo University, Finnish Geological Service and Outotec Company in Finland.

In collaboration with Professor Iraj Hashi from Staffordshire University, UMIB, AGH University, Aalto University and the University of Ljubljana, they are preparing for joint application in a project for “Capacity Building for Higher Education” Erasmus + program. Dean Peci said the main goal of the project is to enable UMIB and other HEIs to improve their ability to train technical and management personnel for the Trepca Mining Complex and the mining industry in general. Kosovo.

During the visit to the Finnish, Geological Service was discussed the possibility of cooperation in joint projects in the field of geosciences. Abo University explored the possibility of having a joint master’s degree program in the field of geology in the framework of the Erasmus + program. “During this visit, we also talked about the functioning of the laboratories in the Faculty of Geosciences, the promotion of cooperation for the mobility of students and teachers, the cooperation in publishing the proceedings of the Geosciences Conference to be organized in 2020 and in the future,” he said.
