UIBM students are invited to participate in this year’s edition of the United Nations Global Model (GMUN), which will be held July 7-9, 2021 (online)

The United Nations Global Model (GMUN) is an annual event (held entirely in English) that simulates the work of the United Nations, achieved through collaboration between public universities in Rome and the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). .

The first edition was launched in 2019, by B.A. students. in Global Governance of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

GMUN aims to give students the opportunity to practice basic diplomatic etiquette, learn about current international issues, and also contribute to the development of their personal skills (public speaking, negotiation, debate, and problem solving). This is an opportunity for new experiences, engaging debates and young professionals aspiring to network.

Applications are officially open and will close on May 20 for the position of Delegate and on April 30 for the position of Chairperson. Your students can apply here.

GMUN does not charge any registration fee and participation in the event is completely free. We believe in equal access to opportunities for all young people. Everyone can apply starting from the age of 16 to 30 years old.

Each year we invite prestigious guests to join us for three days and share their experiences and knowledge with our participants. Our speakers are all key actors coming from different professional fields, making this event truly interdisciplinary in its nature.

Luis Jiménez-McInnis – IFAD Secretary Sara Savastano – Director of Strategy and Knowledge, IFAD Impact Assessment (RV) Department, Her Excellency Jill Morris CMG – British Ambassador to Italy and San Marino, Spain Viktor Elbling – German Ambassador to Italy, Turgut Erdem Ergin – a specialist in disaster risk management and resistance to climate change and Fernanda Guerrieri former Assistant Director General of FAO and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.
