“Information Day” was held for the “Horizon Europe” program

In order to promote the program “Horzon Europe and the COST Association”, an “Information Day” was held on Thursday at “Isa Boletini” University in Mitrovica (UIBM), where vice-rectors, teachers, assistants, students, etc. were present. The activity was opened by the vice-rector for International Cooperation and Scientific Research, prof.dr. Behxhet Shala, who expressed his satisfaction for organizing such an event for all those who are interested in learning more about the opportunities offered by the “Horizon Europe” program.

Andi Batusha, Senior Official for Development Assistance in the Office of Development Cooperation from the Office of the Prime Minister, spoke about the new cycle of cooperation with the EU, where agreements have been signed and increased activities have been carried out so that the scientific community is also a beneficiary of the programs of the EU. He said that despite the fact that Kosovo is new to the EU programs for scientific projects, the idea is to create opportunities to transfer good experiences.

Meanwhile, Qamile Sinanaj, National coordinator for the “Horizon Europe” program, focused on the policies of these programs. She emphasized that Kosovo is relatively good compared to the region. “Out of 105 applications in this program in 2020, 21 projects have benefited,” she said.

Arben Papadhopulli, leader of the “Support to Kosovo with Union Programs/ Technical Assistance Project” project, spoke about the opportunities offered by “Horzon Europe”. According to him, “Horizon Europe” is a major European program in the field of technology and innovation and Kosovo is a member with equal rights.

He drew attention to the rigorous criteria, competence and commitment that the projects in this program require.
