Andreas Schregenberger – Andreas Schregenberger specializes in complex arbitration and litigation. The main focus of his legal work is the resolution of international legal disputes. Attorney Schregenberger for the students of the Faculty of Law addressed the issue of international arbitration, its procedure and advantages compared to the regular procedure which is followed in regular courts. First, the lawyer made a distinction between the judicial procedure which takes place before judges, the arbitration procedure takes place before selected persons called arbitrators. He further clarified that arbitration is a neutral, private and consensual way to resolve conflicts. Moreover, the decision given is binding and must be respected by all parties. Normally, it is a faster and less expensive way than a court procedure. This lecture was followed with satisfactory interest by the students of the Faculty of Law. Even more, this lecture turned into a quasi-international round table, since Professor Zahir Çerkini also joined this lecture. The topic of issues that fall into the domain of arbitration is also current in Kosovo, therefore today’s discussion and professional treatment with the international expert for the students of the Faculty of Law proved to be very fruitful. This interactive lecture was characterized by an open and quite professional debate between the students, professors Qerimi and Čerkini, as well as the Swiss lawyer. An important point of this lecture was the protection of freedoms and human rights in the procedures that take place in arbitration courts.

At the end of this lecture, the interlocutors expressed their satisfaction for the beginning of the cooperation, as well as the idea of deepening the professional cooperation even further, as well as for the support of the students of the Faculty of Law for participation in cases of the development of extrajudicial procedures from the domain of arbitration. .
